Take it to God in prayer.

I have carried burdens I shouldn't have carried.

I have stressed over things I shouldn't have stressed about.(not as though stressing caused the problems to disappear)

I trembled, and I cried.

My name is Bridget Delali. Bridget means strength and Delali means my saviour  lives (I know others prefer my Redeemer lives). I think my folks did extraordinary in naming me. My name defines me. Oh yes, I believe I have the strength to face everything. "You are strong,  you must to be strong" I always encourage  myself. I had to bear everything. I'd prefer to battle my way through a problem than to ask for help.

I ended up carrying  loads filled  with trash which could have been identified by another person if only I could  let them to take a look at my  superfluous weight. I admit, It gets weary. After going through the unnecessary agony I'd now turn to God.

We have all been taught the "I can do spirit". We have been trained to believe we can do everything by ourselves. There's no way I'm saying all that is wrong. In fact why give us nails when we can't even scratch your own itchy scalps? Why have the strength when you can't use it? It won't make any sense right?  If you can do all things why ask for help with the small unimportant ones?

A friend recently told me something. He said

"I know you are strong. I think you find your strength in the fact that your saviour lives".

Honestly, I remind myself the meaning of my name and take pride in doing so but never have I ever linked the two.

Most often "take it to God in prayer" becomes "take your big issues to God." So we wait till the problems become overwhelming, a step closer to desperation and depression, then we look for God.

Yes, there's nothing wrong with going to God with problems that look like a tsunami. What happened to praying for long life? What happened to praying for anger management? What happened to praying for unconditional love? What happened to praying for disappointment, happiness, the pains, the anxieties, and the fears we feel, what happened to them? Maybe we think these are small issues.

But GOD CARES ABOUT OUR LITTLE ISSUES, HE CARES ABOUT OUR SMALL DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS.

By involving God in our little issues we learn to trust Him with our big issues. Big problems are  sometimes the stockpile of our small problems.

These small things become big things with time. If prayer means talking to God, then starting with the little conversations is definitely a good way to grow a friendship with God. The longer you forget God can deal with your littles things the more you depend on your own strength. The longer you depend on your own strength, the more weary you become.

When you listen to a small child pray for the little things they want and you see how happy they feel when the things they have prayed for granted,  it's simply amazing.

"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there ANYTHING too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27

Our prophecies are often filled with God doing bigger things in our lives. What about the small ones? Does God only solve big problems? If God can solve big problems then He certainly can solve your small problems.

We don't have to give God a limited scope. No matter how small the problem is, He cares and is willing to walk you through it. When we keep in mind that He is a God of small things, we will recognize and appreciate the little miracles all around us. Life is made up of little things.

Thanks to Alan Jackson for this beautiful reminder to take EVERYTHING to God in prayer.

❝What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer!

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,

Oh, what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer!❞

With lots of love,
Delali.
